International Remote
Dinner Party

A participatory performance by Clémence Vazard
and all women*.

A tribute to Suzanne Lacy's 1979 performance: International Dinner Party.

Women* from around the world are invited to meet online and share a 24-hour dinner to celebrate community, women's rights and feminist movements around the world. The re-enactment of this performance takes on a new meaning today, in the age of the Internet and Covid19. Whereas in 1979 the challenge was to reach women around the world, in 2021, it is to create a meaningful encounter between them.

International Remote Dinner Party is a long-term project, designed to be replayed each year, evolving with experiences, locations and participants and multiplying its impact over time.

An online Platform

For 24 hours, a dedicated online platform will be available for each woman to connect via a video call, upload a photo and send a message that she wishes to spread around the world. Their location will be pinned on a public map where any visitor will be able to discover what they have shared.

A performance offline

The performance invites women* to participate in the organisation of the dinner, both locally and globally. Locally, by preparing and sharing a meal, if wanted with their community. Globally by connecting online with women around the world and by inviting other participants for the International Remote Dinner Party.

* Cisgender & self-identified women, , transgender and non-binary people.
